Working off $72,900 worth of debt is not going to be a simple walk in the park, my husband makes a very small salary already and I am a stay-at home mother of three kids. In addition to that, my husband is losing his job in July 2007 after being diagnosed with severe epilepsy, which cannot be controlled with medication. Our forth child is due to be born that same month. Even with all this going on, we are resolved and inspired to achieve our debt free goal. Our debt work off plan is to earn money online through legitimate work at home companies. I have found a few great ones so far and have started to build a decent income, which my plan is to build over the next couple months. It takes a lot of work to be achieve a goal at making money online, I am devoting many hours because we are in a sink or swim position in our lives right now. When my husband gets laid off work in July 2007, we are moving in with his parents so we can work on paying off our debts and save some money for a place of our own. My husband has plans to do as many side jobs as possible to supplement our income and clean up our debt mess. Our desire to be debt free is very powerful, even to the point that we are willing to work very hard and sacrifice all the luxuries of day to day that many people get to enjoy. We do not buy cable television, we never go out to eat, we only buy clothes for the kids when they clearly require them and we never buy clothes for ourselves. We choose not to go to the movies, order take out food or go anywhere that requires us to spend money. Our kids do not get any new games or toys. Except those that come as gifts from grandparents. I do not want to make you think that we deprive our kids. We do free activities with them so they have some fun, we like to go for walks and play at the park. We do not eat any expensive meals. The staple of our diet consists of beans & rice and other low cost meals such as pastas, baked potatoes, and vegetable stir-fry. We put our family into debt, so it is up to us to get ourselves out of it. We have to sacrifice in order to meet our debt free goal. I invite you to watch our progress as we work ourselves out of debt and towards financial freedom. Any advice or encouragement you can provide will be incredibly helpful to our cause. I have created a blog to track our progress towards our goal, which you can visit here- Working for Financial Independence
